Warehouse Management Solutions

Menlo Worldwide Logistics’ warehouse solutions provide a flexible foundation for an efficient, flawless fulfillment process. Our scalable technology manages distribution resources — people, space, equipment, value-added services — while controlling inventory accuracy and providing order/inventory visibility.

Our warehouse solutions result in improved inventory management, increased productivity, improved customer satisfaction and lower costs through:

  • Shorter order-to-delivery cycle times
  • Optimized distribution environments
  • Potential ongoing savings of 10–25% of product handling costs

Menlo Warehouse Management technology offerings include two applications:

WMS: Menlo Worldwide Logistics’ multifunctional, integrated, flexible solution offers radio frequency and task-management capabilities for large, complex or dynamic warehouse operations.

SIMS: Our proven, reliable Menlo Worldwide Logistics-developed system for basic warehouse environments — SIMS — is the low-cost solution with quick implementation. This paper-based system has capability for scanner data capture.

Key features of our warehouse management applications include:

Inventory Accuracy — Achieves virtually 100% inventory accuracy when used in conjunction with bar codes and radio frequency (RF) technology.

Real-Time Inventory Status — Synchronizing material movement and data capture enables accuracy, speed and efficiency in warehouse operations. Material location and motion remain visible and accurate at all times.

Inventory Management — Multiple inventory utilization rules ensure optimal product utilization (first-in, first-out (FIFO); last-in, first-out (LIFO); etc.). Robust consolidation rules, along with multiple-date management, such as expiration date and shelf life, can be incorporated in the inventory storage and picking algorithms.

Item-Level Inventory Tracking — “License plate” enables tracking by vendor, manufacturer, country, lot or any other attributes. This is key to managing product changes or customs and trade reporting.

RFID — For compliance with large retailers/Department of defense (DOD), Menlo Worldwide Logistics applies radio frequency identification (RFID) tags according to specifications at the case and pallet level, and associates cases with pallets. Menlo Worldwide Logistics implements a total turnkey solution, including configuration and training, to enable your operations to be compliant with your retailer requirements.

Workflow Management — Designed to maximize efficiency in the warehouse based on daily workforce and preset parameters, such as skills, equipment qualification, and dynamic customer priorities.

Task Interleaving — Real-time decision-making allows the system to optimize operator warehouse “round trips” based on priorities of the work to be done, the location of the operator on the floor, the operator’s list of permitted tasks, and the equipment in use.

Shipping Documentation — From small package to full truckload, compliant labels and documentation can be created regardless of whether the carrier is a regional trucker or an ocean carrier.

Reporting — Systems allow you to manage the business based on key performance indicators, such as accuracy, cycle times, fill rates, etc.
