Jeff Harris - Menlo Worldwide Logistics

Since January 1994, Jeff Harris has worked for Menlo Worldwide Logistics, most recently as senior program manager in Nashville. At Menlo, Jeff uses his expertise to manage client accounts. Specifically, he supports various Menlo customers by performing strategic and business development functions, and offering the customer a high level of service and satisfaction.

Jeff’s favorite part of working for Menlo is that his job never gets boring. “I enjoy the flexibility and creativity,” Jeff says. “Since every customer has specific and varying needs, I’m constantly challenged to create custom solutions that can help them grow and remain competitive.”

In addition to his full-time job with Menlo, Jeff has found another passion that he finds both rewarding and exciting. Last year, along with his daughter and nephew, Jeff signed up to become a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization founded in 1976, that works to eliminate homelessness by building houses for those in need.

“I was looking to give back to the community, and I wanted my youngest daughter and nephew to see how fortunate and blessed they are,” Jeff said of his decision to volunteer. “I thought it was important for them to see that other people need help just to make it.”

Jeff’s project was to add vinyl siding to a home they were working on. Although the work was difficult, Jeff said it was all worth it once he met the woman who was going to be living in the house.

When looking back on his experience with Habitat for Humanity, Jeff said that volunteering made him more appreciative of how fortunate he is to have his own home.“This experience made me aware that there are a lot of people who are in need, and that I can do more to help,” he said.

Jeff looks forward to volunteering again this fall, and wants other potential volunteers to realize that their help is crucial to the organization’s success.

In his hometown of Smyrna, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville, Jeff lives with his wife of nearly 28 years and their two daughters. When he’s not managing customer relationships at Menlo, or building houses for Habitat for Humanity, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, and keeping fit by working out and playing golf. He is also very active in his church, where he serves on the trustee ministry, managing assets and purchasing equipment.
