Con-way Freight Named 2009 National LTL Carrier of the Year by Echo Global Logistics, Inc.

Company Exceeds Critical Performance Metrics for Transit Time, Reliability, Trust and Overall Value

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - May 06, 2010

Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has been named 2009 National LTL Carrier of the Year by Echo Global Logistics, Inc. (Nasdaq: ECHO), a leading provider of technology enabled transportation and supply chain management services. The company was honored during a ceremony held at Echo’s Chicago headquarters on April 28.

Echo evaluates carriers both qualitatively and quantitatively using criteria such as on-time delivery, claims-to-shipment ratio and invoice accuracy. The company captures the information via automated data collection and metrics tracking through its proprietary, Web-based transportation management platform. During the year, Con-way Freight achieved a claims-to-shipment ratio well under 1 percent and an on-time performance rating of more than 95 percent. In addition, results from an Echo internal LTL survey revealed that Con-way Freight both met and exceeded the expectations of key constituencies, including account executives, sales representatives and agents.

“Con-way Freight handled more than 100,000 shipments for us last year with outstanding results,” said Mark Redini, vice president of pricing for Echo Global Logistics. “We look forward to developing a long-term relationship with Con-way Freight and continuing our work with them to provide Echo’s customers with world-class quality, service and value. Congratulations to everyone on the Con-way Freight team.”

Con-way Freight began working with Echo Global Logistics more than four years ago on both enterprise and transactional shipments for the company. This is the first time Con-way Freight has been recognized since Echo began measuring LTL and TL carrier performance in 2008.

“Being named National LTL Carrier of the Year by Echo is particularly meaningful for Con-way Freight since the criteria of the award centers around what we strive to bring our customers every day — exception-free delivery, on-time service performance and faster transit times,” said John G. Labrie, president, Con-way Freight. “Everyone who worked with Echo this year should be very proud of this accomplishment and we thank Echo for recognizing our efforts.”
