Con-way Freight Drivers Receive Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association Awards

Feb. 26, 2007 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload freight carrier and a subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that two of its drivers were recognized by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA) as “Drivers of the Month” in 2006. James Hoover, a Con-way Freight driver from New Castle, Pa., was honored as “Driver of the Month” by the PMTA in March 2006. Albert Draht, a Con-way driver from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., received the same award in May, and was also named PMTA's “Driver of the Year” at its annual awards luncheon on Dec. 7, 2006.

(NYSE: CNW), today announced that professional truck driver Terry Wheeler was named “Driver of the Month” for February by the Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA). The organization selected Wheeler for outstanding safety and performance, among other criteria.

Transport Experts Call For New Generation Of Ocean Cargo Services

Feb. 09, 2007 - Two freight transport experts today called for the creation of “fast track” ocean cargo services that can provide shippers reliable and timely delivery of Asian imports. Brian Clancy and David Hoppin of Arlington-based MergeGlobal issued a research paper concluding that innovative concepts are needed to take the variability out of international supply chains and ease the pain caused by a congested U.S. freight transport system.

Transport Experts Call For New Generation Of Ocean Cargo Services

Feb. 08, 2007 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that driver Steve Freitag has achieved his two millionth accident-free mile. In a ceremony on Aug. 29, 2006, at the company’s Charleston, W.Va., service center, Freitag was honored for logging two million miles between April 7, 1986 and Aug. 10, 2006. Freitag joins a list of only 12 Con-way drivers to achieve this career milestone.
