Robert L. Bianco, Jr.

Robert L. Bianco, Jr. is a senior vice president of Con-way Inc. and president of Menlo Worldwide Logistics, LLC, a $1.4 billion global provider of logistics, transportation management and supply chain services. Menlo Worldwide Logistics is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a $4.7 billion freight transportation and logistics services company headquartered in San Mateo, Calif.
Mr. Bianco was named to his current position in 2005. As Menlo's president, he has executive responsibility for the strategic direction, financial performance and business growth for Menlo's worldwide operations, which span North America and five continents.
An executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, Mr. Bianco joined the CNF organization in 1989 as a management trainee. In 1990, he was promoted to manager of operations research, responsible for freight network optimization modeling. In 1992, he was named logistics manager for Menlo Logistics, and was responsible for implementing and managing supply chain solutions for customers in the hi-tech industry. He subsequently advanced through a series of increasingly responsible positions where he managed distribution services, customer relationships, operations and business growth for the company. He was named vice president of operations for Menlo Logistics in 1997, was named president in 2002, and became Menlo's president and a senior vice president of the parent company Con-way Inc. in 2005
Mr. Bianco began his career as a logistics officer in the U.S. Army. Stationed in Europe, he was responsible for the transportation of supplies to combat units in Europe.
Mr. Bianco is a member of the Council of Logistics Management. He is a native of San Francisco, Calif., and earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a master's degree from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Bianco is based at Menlo Worldwide Logistics' headquarters in San Mateo, Calif.
